Personal Development Solutions

Career Progression Programme (Three days + follow-up day)

11% of the UK population have an impairment which falls within the area of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA). Many employees hide their impairment from their employer and, in lots of cases, managers find it difficult to deal with those impairments which are visible. As a result, there are many employees with disabilities who are never able to realise their true potential. This workshop and its follow-up day enables delegates to manage their impairment effectively, advises on the DDA legislation and helps to release the full potential of the workforce.

What the training covers:

  • Hopes and Fears
  • Equal Opportunities
  • Me and my Impact
  • DDA legislation
  • Images and Models of Disability
  • Career drivers
  • Managing my Impairment
  • CVs and Interviewing
  • Goals and Action Planning

Suitable for Anyone who has (or who manages someone with) an impairment. Previous delegate conditions have included hearing and sight impairments, cerebral palsy, MS, thalidomide and mobility issues. Provision can be made for signers and helpers where these are needed.

All our courses and workshops use whole brain learning techniques that produce a relaxed informal atmosphere where delegates learn better and faster. This involves the use of music, games, toys and visual challenges which promote course messages.
